Photography has always been an important part of my life.
My father, Ed Clarity, was an award-winning photographer for the New York Daily News. It seems to me that the first time I opened my eyes, a flash bulb went off and never stopped. For many years, my sisters and I were his models and then one day I became fascinated with the other end of the camera.
My father encouraged me to do something with my
photos and I submitted them to H. Armstrong Roberts, a
photo stock agency. I was pleasantly surprised with my success. My work appeared in text books, calendars and brochures. A favorite photograph of my son appeared in a Little Caesar's Pizza annual calendar.
Eventually, I decided to participate in art shows. It was in this venue that I had the freedom to photograph that which moved and inspired me. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to work with the Navketan International Film Company doing the still photography for the movie "Love at Times Square". A great joy to me is the wonderful people I meet through my photography.
My husband, Ted and I are fortunate to travel to many beautiful places and although I have returned with a broad spectrum of exciting scenes, my preference remains the beautiful vistas of the Catskill Mountains.
